CloudChute didn't start in a boardroom; it started with a "File Not Found" error.

While running a professional music studio, our team managed thousands of hours of creative work. We relied on standard cloud syncing, assuming our data was safe. We were wrong. A single sync error led to a massive data loss that derailed years of work.

The Problem We Faced

We needed a solution that didn't exist: true backup that doesn't mirror accidental deletions, and privacy that encrypts files before they ever leave the Mac.

Crucially, we needed a tool that worked with us, not against us. As musicians, we couldn't have a backup utility "hammering" our CPU and slowing down a mix—we needed a tool that was as efficient as it was secure.

We built CloudChute to protect our own livelihood, but we soon realised that anyone who values their digital life needs the same level of protection.

Neither we nor Google can see it. Because it's built natively for macOS, it runs with a tiny footprint, staying out of your way while you work.
